Anandmurti Gurumaa: A Brief Life Sketch
Anandmurti Gurumaa is a contemporary enlightened master. She is loved deeply by millions of youngsters and elders alike. She shapes up their life as a friend, a mother and a guide through her dynamic guidance. Her youth meditation retreats are quite popular among the youth.
Gurumaa also runs Mission Shakti for the upliftment of women and empowerment of the girl child in India. India is a country where male chauvinism and gender bias is prevalent since many centuries.
Anandmurti Gurumaa was born on 8 April 1966 at Amritsar in Punjab, India. She graduated in Arts and was a student with extraordinary calibre. She has bloomed to be a master of life and beyond. She has been a counselor, mentor and guide to people of all age groups since her very young age.
With regards to Gurumaa, it can be said that “A Rose is born a rose, and the need not do anything to be a rose”.
From a very young age, the qualities of a great master were visible in Anandmurti Gurumaa. She showed the extraordinary signs of a mystic at a very early age.
Her home was frequently visited by spiritually evolved people and she was blessed by sages and mystics right at her home. Gurumaa’s deep insights and sharp intellect into spirituality surprised even her school teachers. She also had a special affinity towards the Seers from a very young age.
She would listen to their talks and put up various profound questions – which were remarkable for a child of the age of nine! They happily answered all her queries as they knew that these questions were not just being asked out of sheer curiosity, but out of a genuine desire for knowledge.
Anandmurti Gurumaa also started writing poetry at a very early age. Her poetic expressions and bhajans (spiritual songs), which can be seen regularly on television and the internet (www.gurumaa.com), deeply touch the soul as they come from the depths of her heart.
Her poetic expressions are like offerings to the divine, where the divine is sometimes a friend and sometimes the beloved.
Gurumaa: A Mystic Master From an Early Age
Gurumaa has been giving spiritual discourses (satsang) since she was a schoolgirl. Large number of people are drawn to her discourses and make all endeavors to be a part of her spiritual teachings and divine blessings (Amrit Varsha).
She traveled a lot throughout her teens and had settled down in Rishikesh, India in a hermitage. A few years after here enlightenment, she decided to spread her message and enlighten the lives of the masses of people in the world – who were suffering from misery, gried, greed, agony and discontentment in life.
Destiny wanted her to spread her wings far and wide so that she could reach a maximum number of people. Here spiritual discourses on television were a huge hit and were loved by seekers throughout India and the world. Gurumaa’s discourses are aired regularly on television, and are available to millions of viewers worldwide.
The Gurumaa Ashram is based in Gannaur, Dist. Sonepat, Haryana, India. Various workshops and residential retreats are held throughout the year in the ashram, which is the place full of tranquility, natural beauty and positive energy.
