Govind, Gopal, Murli Manohar, Shyam, Rasbihari, Madan Mohan, or Radha Madhav…Krishna is perhaps the only deity who is addressed with so many different names. Shri Krishna is the epitome of love; the divine love. Krishna is perhaps the only deity who is loved, prayed and revered in his different forms.
Krishna, the adopted son of Yashoda and Nand is worshiped as a child God by millions who look at him with motherly love.
Krishna, the young and most charming is the heart throb of all those who adore and love him as Gopi.
Krishna is a buddy, a friend, philosopher and guide to those who look up to him as Arjuna or Draupadi.
Krishna, the most meticulously and appropriately dressed, handsome and perfect metro sexual male, the outstanding statesman, emperor and a versatile persona rules the hearts of his devotees.

Most of us have experienced that when we sit down and try to meditate, our mind starts wandering in all the directions; mind starts chattering insistently.
Our sages understood the human mind and its mechanism very well. They knew how it constantly changes its colors and keeps hopping like monkey from one thought to the other.
Sankirtan is a device given to humankind by our sages to quiet our mind. When we repeatedly chant the name of lord or any mantra, it works wonders with our mind. Slowly the mind starts settling down and helps us de-stress our hyper active mind.
It is immaterial which name we chant, what matters is the sincerity and devotion with which we sing his glory.
In this video the name and glory of Shri Krishna, the purnapurushottama is sung by the mystic master Anandmurti Gurumaa. The sweetness of His name is combined with the musical voice of the living master Anandmurti Gurumaa, equally melodious flute and the musical composition is a perfect combination to drive oneself to the state of a trance.
We meet lots of people in our life time but all of them pull us more and more into this world. But only a sage can uproot our mind from the worldly affairs and initiate us to the spiritual path.
And the most fortunate ones are not those whose names appear in the list of Forbe’s list of the richest people of the globe nor those who are young, handsome and heart throbs of women nor those who are famous and powerful heads of the states.
The blessed ones are those who get a real master, a sage – sadguru in his or her life time. The scriptures say that one needs ample amount of good deeds or karmas in one’s account to encounter a sage or sadguru.
Only a master can help us connect to the Almighty. The reason is that only the one who has known Him can show the path to his divine abode. In fact Sadguru is the one who himself or herself has become one with the divine energy, the God as we might call.
This devotional song (bhajan) by Anandmurti Gurumaa – “Aisa koi Sant Mile”, is a prayer of a seeker to meet such a saint who can connect the cord of his heart with the divine. Only a sage or a sadguru can vigorously wake us up from our slumber. Unless we get guidance of a sadguru it is almost impossible to manage our ever oscillating mind and meditate.
Anandmurti Gurumaa, the enlightened mystic master in her mesmerizing voice invites us to the unconditional love of a true master.
Watch this video and get connected to the divine love and you may get a glimpse of the unknowable.
There are various types of material available which can intoxicate a person. All kinds of liquors, wine, beer or drugs like cocaine, hashish, marijuana, ecstasy and many other such drugs give you high or temporary elation.
But all those who have tried and tasted these intoxicating drinks or drugs know it very well that, though they might be giving you a pleasure or high for the certain period, when the effect starts diminishing one feels more miserable. All these intoxication is also harmful to human body and mind.
But there is one thing which gives such exhilaration that no alcoholic drink or drug can give us and that is, sankirtan. The chanting of divine name, the name of the almighty is so intoxicating that it not only gives us the high without any negative side-effects. Instead it enhances our physical health, mental well being and also spiritual growth.
In this video the enlightened mystic master Anandmurti Gurumaa is reciting the mahamantra – “Hare Krishna Hare Rama”. The Mahamantra and her melodious divine voice is a perfect cocktail for giving a much required intoxication for stressed out modern man.
Mind you, this combination is entirely safe and does not harm your health. Nevertheless, it will improve the blood circulation; the endocrinal system will start functioning better and will provide you many more health benefits.

All the sages, all the masters, ancient scriptures and all the religions have been telling us for ages that God is the only salvage. The Almighty is your only relative, friend and the loved one. Everything else is an illusion.
The modern day mystic Anandmurti Gurumaa is reminding us the same truth again and again. But instead of preaching it as a matter of fact, she is saying it poetically, lyrically and musically.
And perhaps that is the reason that her call to remember God every moment is more piercing. Her melodious voice urges us not to get caught in this illusion or maya, as described in our scriptures as the world or sansara; but rather rise above that and attain the attainable.
She is using the word Ram here but she does not mean the Ram, the son of Dasaratha, husband of Sita and brother of Laxman, Bharat and Shatrughna. The name could be any. It may be Rama, Krishna, Durga, Shiva, Allah or Jesus because they are the different names of only one, the Almighty, the omnipresent one.
She is emphasizing here in this kirtan that everything here, under the sky is temporary. Everything will one day will either get destroyed or demise. One day you will have to leave this planet and you will have to leave all your belongings, relatives, buddies and the loved ones behind or may be the things or the people whom you love or attached may leave you.
But there is one thing which is permanent in this ever changing world and that is the God. He is the one who is living right within you and will never leave you.
She is again and again reminding us that no one in this world is your true companion, so do not indulge in the worldly affairs or relations. She says, surrender to Rama - the all prevalent, the omnipresent one. He is your only savior.
Just remember him day and night and get liberated from all the agonies and pain of this life. By chanting His name you will rise above pain and pleasures and you will be always enjoying the bliss.
Watch this video and chant His name with the enlightened master Anandmurti Gurumaa and get drenched in the nectar.
Tukaram Maharaj was a great poet-saint born in Maharashtra during the Bhakti movement of India. He was a great devotee of Lord Vitthala, a form of Krishna who is predominantly worshiped in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Goa.
Tukaram Maharaj compiled many devotional poems, which are known as abhangs in Marathi. The compositions written by him were simple, yet had profound teachings within them.
In Part one of the satsang that took place on December 10th 2010, Anandmurti Gurumaa sings one of the compositions written by Tukaram Maharaj. In this beautiful poem, he says our body is the temple of God, and the atma or soul is the Lord himself.
Tukaram Maharaj illustrates how close God is to us by using simple analogies. He points out that the sugar in sugarcane and butter within milk both remain unseen until they are extracted.
Similarly, the Lord dwells within us and is the essence of our existence. The great saint continues to say that we are foolish to travel great distances, and assume that God is far away, when the great Lord exists inside of us!
Such a great mystery can only be revealed by those who have experienced this highest state of bliss. Therefore as the great poet-saint Tukaram Maharaj says, we should learn to explore our inner world and find the divinity that is present inside our own body!
Does your life feel unfulfilled even though you have everything you dreamed for? You possess every sort of luxury; have the perfect family, home, etc. but still life feels incomplete.
Why does this emptiness exist? That is because the happiness you are searching for is not outside, but exists inside you! Watch this video to know more about your real Self.
In her beautiful, melodious voice the enlightened master – Anandmurti Gurumaa explains the concepts of Advaita Vedanta through this bhajan. As the bhajan says Mera sat-cit-anand roop koyi koyi jane re.
There are very few people in this world who have realized who they really are. The word sat-chit-ananda means pure existence-pure consciousness-pure bliss, and is defining your true nature. Most of us identify ourselves with physical bodies and never realize the treasure that lies within us.
According to the Advaita Vedanta philosophy, Brahman, is the Ultimate Reality, who is beyond form, names and cannot be described in words. This nirguna, or attributeless form of Brahman pervades the entire world.
The Self (atman) that exists within us is not different from Brahman. It is for this reason that all the great saints tell us to worship our own Self, since this pure divinity exists within.
As Gurumaa says, Panch kosha se me hu nyara, meaning our true Self remains untouched by everything. This pure consciousness within us is encased by five sheaths, or koshas which are respectively known as the annamaya kosha (food sheath), pranamaya kosha (energy or prana sheath), manomaya kosha (mind sheath), vijnanamaya kosha (knowledge or wisdom sheath) and anandamaya kosha (bliss sheath).
The bhajan also elucidates that this Self remains a witness, and is uninvolved in the birth and death cycle. The countless sins and virtuous deeds performed during our lives also have no effect on the purity of the Self. Therefore it is said in the bhajan that Janam maran mera dharma nahi he, paap punya mera karam nahi he.
Due to our avidya (ignorance), and maya (illusion), which is the divine power of Brahman, we identify ourselves with our physical body, and lose touch with the Ultimate Reality. As we acquire the knowledge about our real identity, we realize Brahman dwells with us, as us!
To realize the true Self is the greatest accomplishment one can achieve. Meditation is the key that allows you to experience this state. As you keep meditating, you will be able to dive deeper into your own ocean of bliss!

Nowadays the word “guru” has become a popular saying amongst people, and there is no shortage of guru’s in our world. You will find this term used casually to describe someone’s expertise, for example a computer guru.
So, is this really the definition of a guru? Who is a guru? In this bhajan, Anandmurti Gurumaa beautifully describes the greatness and the true nature of the guru.
In India, it is quite common to address your teachers or priests as a guru. However, there is a big difference between a guru and sadguru.
The sadguru or true guru is an enlightened master who shows the disciple the path to attain liberation. The syllable gu means darkness and ru means light. Therefore a sadguru is someone who removes the darkness of ignorance from our minds, and reveals our true nature to us.
The Shri Guru Gita is a scripture which describe the greatness and meaning of a sadguru. In the Guru Gita, Lord Shiva himself says that the sadguru is no different from him.
A sadguru is the supreme consciousness or bliss that exists within all of us. Therefore a sadguru is not the individual, but it divine power of grace that is flowing through that individual.
The sadguru has realized the true nature of the Self, or atman and also has the power to allow others to experience this state. They help us develop love for God and show us that this God really exists within us.
It is through the compassion and grace of a sadguru that a disciple stops running after happiness in the illusionary world, and realizes that it has always existed within!
We have always needed someone to teach us various activities from the day of our birth, and similarly a sadguru is essential for the inward development of a disciple.
It is extremely difficult to understand the nature of your true Self. If this were not the case we would all be self realized!
It is due to the grace of a sadguru that we are “born again” and now have the divine knowledge to understand the true purpose of our existence. Therefore in this bhajan a countless number of salutations are being offered to such a divine being.
There is no greater gift that anyone can give us, and no one is this world can be comparable to a sadguru! As the bhajan says:
Namo Namo Guru ko namo, Namo hazaro baar
Guru ke paaye jo lage, utare bhava se paar
Guru mata guru he pita, guru he prabhu samana
Guru seva se hoye hai manusha ka kalyaan
Bhakti seva bhava se kar jo guru ko yaad
Janam maran ki kaid se ho jaye azaad
What is the importance of chanting the lord’s name and reciting it? What is the blissfulness found in it? Find out how you can achieve the same, in this Gurumaa video which is part 6 of the Janmashtami discourse series.
Shri Krishna Govinda Hare Murare, He Natha Narayana Vasudeva
Shri Krishna Sharanam Mama
“Shri Krishna Govinda Hare Murare He Natha Narayana Vasudeva” is one of the most popular and well-known bhajans in India. It depicts the various names Lord Krishna is addressed by, and repetition of the Lord’s name can free us from all sorts of sins and troubles.
Repeating the Lord’s name with faith and love can take us to unseen heights! Great saints such as Meera Bai attained liberation just by chanting God’s name with love.
Love is the key to everything, and without it everything becomes dry and ineffective. Chanting the Lord’s name with love not only purifies the mind but also creates pure and positive vibrations in the body and surrounding atmosphere.
A true devotee has also completely surrendered and left everything up to their beloved. A devotee’s surrendering is in the inner, not outer world.
They have completely given up the notion of “I”, or the ego and lost themselves. After handing over themselves to the Lord, they attain the Absolute or their beloved!
The process of submission is a mysterious and amazing process. On the spiritual path this is an essential quality that a devotee must possess. It is the ego that separates you from the Lord, and without surrendering it you cannot attain God.
Repeating God’s name with love is one of the simplest and most effective ways to pursue your sadhana (spiritual practices). Therefore as all the great saints say, continue taking the Lord’s name and leave everything in God’s hands. Whatever happens will only be for the best!
