Many people experience the problem of constantly having thoughts during meditation. Due to this problem many of us get frustrated and annoyed at ourselves. In this video, Anandmurti Gurumaa explains what we should do when this problem occurs during meditation.

As Gurumaa says in this video, it is essential that we do not get attached, or caught up in our thoughts. In fact she says consistent meditation will actually decrease our thought process. The practice of mediation purifies our heart and our mind.

Gradually, as you follow the path of meditation your thoughts start to decrease and ultimately you reach a point where the mind becomes free from all thoughts and negativities.

Even though we are all pure consciousness, the activity of the mind conceals our true nature. Through the process of meditation we still our mind and become free from thoughts.

Indian philosophy says that there are impressions of countless number of lifetimes that are stored within you. All the negativity, fear, anger and emotions that you experience are deeply embedded within us. The process of meditation is so powerful that it burns these impressions, and uproots them out of you. As Gurumaa says, meditation acts like a broom and sweeps the clutter out of our mind.

The mind is nothing but pure consciousness, and can never be destroyed. Due to maya, we see ourselves separate from God. Once we erase our notion of duality and see ourselves as one with God, then this same mind expands and merges with our true Self.

Therefore Gurumaa says instead of associating ourselves with either good or bad thoughts, we need to remain unbiased. She says we should just watch and constantly witness our own thoughts. We are not the thoughts, but we are the knower and perceiver of these thoughts.

Ultimately the goal of our sadhana is to reach the highest state of meditation. The highest state of meditation occurs when the mind merges with our pure consciousness, or Self. This advanced state of samadhi is known as nirvikalpa samadhi, which is the highest state of meditative union with God that one can experience. This state is beyond attribute, thoughts and images and is also known as self realization.

Meditation gives us immense calmness, peace and bliss. But how do we manage our daily time, so that we can meditate as well as get our daily chores such as studies, career, business, etc done effectively? Discover this subtle art in this Gurumaa video.

Very often students and intellectuals feel that devoting time to contemplation and meditation would steal their precious time which could otherwise be given to reading or studying. Many people too dissuade them from doing so. But in this video, Anandmurti Gurumaa is clarifying the doubt of such a seeker and making it more comprehensible and intelligible.

Meditation leads a bewildered mind to clarity, restlessness to tranquility, and vices to purity. Thus with such an awakened mind, the capacity to absorb and retain the academic knowledge gradually increases. Undoubtedly, a person with stable mind would excel in his studies and in every field.

One should feel blessed if he goes deep into meditation and should not pay much heed to the time it takes. A stable mind would take lesser time to grasp more knowledge and that too in an efficient way. So don’t refrain yourself from flowing in this beautiful river of meditation.

What is swar yoga? How can you achieve the pinnacle of meditation, awareness and heightened consciousness by its practice? Discover the inner secrets of this amazing science of mastery over mind in this Gurumaa video.

One can reach to the pinnacle in everything one do just by knowing and practicing the Swar yoga. Swar yoga deals greatly with the knowledge of breathing from a particular nostril while performing a specific work.

For instance while performing all motor activities viz. eating, running, dancing etc., breathing from right nostril (Surya swar) should be active. On the other hand, breathing from left nostril (Chandra swar) accelerates our cognitive abilities and creativity. So while painting, composing literature or music, meditating etc. one should ensure that his Chandra swar is active.

So, one should handle these precious breaths with dexterity and great skill. When there is parity between the breathing from both nostrils, it is called Sam swar or Shoonya swar. It is the stage when both Surya swar and Chandra swar become equally active and bring stillness to the mind. This acts as a crucial stage for touching heights in spirituality. Shoonya swar is the apt time for meditation.

This knowledge of maneuvering the breaths enhances the level of one’s consciousness and awareness. Continuous adherence to Swar Yoga brings astonishing results and gives the ability to receive higher intuitive knowledge. All the queries of mind vanish, when one delves deep inside and become watchful and wakeful of mind.

Lord Buddha never answered to any seeker’s question straight away. He suggested them to stay with him for at least one year. In the company with such a great master, disciples used to learn the lessons of humbleness, tolerance and perform every task with great awareness. Lord Buddha, at his death bed, gave a golden rule- “App Deepo Bhav”, which means, “Be a light unto yourself”. He said that a master can guide you at every step but you have to go within yourself to ablaze your ignorance.

In our life, we come across a wide variety of situations – fortunate and unfortunate. We go through a lot of emotional turbulence and also become anxious, depressed, nervous and we lose our poise in these situations.

In a similar question that was put up to Anandmurti Gurumaa, where a disciple was suffering from the above mentioned mental and emotional state due to the death of his loved one; Gurumaa suggests some excellent means through which one can restore his emotional balance, be free of all addictions and live blissfully.

Gurumaa says that everyone has to reap the fruits of what they have sown – in this life or the past lives. So, each person is responsible for his/her own acts and has to bear the consequences.

However, one should not lose the inner balance and happiness due to the occurrence of unfortunate events in life. To maintain this inner state of peace, Gurumaa suggests the following methods –

1) Listening to satsang (spiritual discourses) — to calm the mind, achieve wisdom and understanding to live life gracefully.

2) Meditation involving deep breathing and chanting the mantra “Om” (technique specified in the video)

3) Doing some form of charitable activity and sharing love with the less fortunate ones (for example, feeding the hungry)

4) Practicing “Sakriya Dhyan” (Dynamic Meditation) – an active meditation that involves powerful breathing techniques.

What is the science behind energy chakras, bioplasmic body and pranic healing? How does this vital flow of energy affect our physical, mental and emotional health? Find out the answers to these questions in this Gurumaa video.

While meditating, a seeker encounters some strange things that bewilder his mind. Such experiences could be vibration in hands, feeling warmth in the body, a feeling of pulsating wheel in the palms and so on. In this video, a young seeker has come up with the same kind of query which is being answered meticulously by Anandmurti Gurumaa.

Every human being possesses a ‘Bioplasmic body’ which wraps our physical body from outside and also resides within. Bioplasmic body is not visible with the naked eye, but still one cannot deny its existence. Today medical science has also given its consent to this entity.

Reiki, Stone therapy, Acupressure, Acupuncture- all these therapies are based on healing one’s bioplasmic body via physical body. In Acupressure, manual pressure is applied to the body at specific points while in Acupuncture fine needles are inserted in the skin at specific points along supposed lines of energy. These specific points are spread in the whole body, in feet, in hands and precisely in the upper portion of thumb.

Before any ailment reaches the physical body, it comes in our Bioplasmic body. Whenever there is any obstruction in flow of energy, the aforementioned therapies are used on physical body to reach Bioplasmic body. This is also termed as ‘Energy Healing’ or ‘Pranic Healing’.

In Yogic terminology, the flow channels in Bioplasmic body are called as Naadi. Naadi does not imply nerves but the “flow of energy”. In ancient Hindu scriptures, 3.5 lakh naadi have been acknowledged and out of these 3 are the most prominent.

Whenever a person feels vibration or warmth in body organs, or sometimes an electric flow could also be felt, these are the consequences of rising up of an untamed energy. So it is very essential to purify the body first through Yogasana & Pranayama.

Before the disintegration of Russia, a research was being carried there to heal the bioplasmic body, but was discontinued. But it is believed that in some part of the world the research has been started again and if it would materialize, it would be a big landmark.

Do you know about the benefits of Yoga Nidra? Have you experienced Kumbhak during the practice of Yoga Nidra? If yes, then check out this video where Gurumaa talks about how yoga nidra should be practiced and how should we approach the different types of experiences that come during its practice.

Firstly, lets look at what Yoga Nidra is? Yoga Nidra is an amazing ancient tantra meditation technique to enhance our awareness, achieve stress relief, deep relaxation and be free of all types of mental and emotional conditionings. It is a guided meditation practice where we lie down and listen to the instructions given by the Yoga Nidra Instructor and enter deep states of heightened consciousness and relaxation.

Now, different people experience different kinds of things during yoga nidra depending on their inner subconscious mind conditionings. Here is a video where one of the meditators experienced kumbhak during the practice of yoga nidra and put up this question to Gurumaa.

So, what is “Kumbhak” ? It is a term from the science and discipline of Yoga and Pranayama. Basically, when the breath is expired, it is “Rechaka”, the first kind of Pranayama. When the breath is drawn in, it is the second, termed “Puraka”. When it is suspended, it is the third kind, called “Kumbhaka”. In other words, Kumbhaka is retention of breath.

Besides that, Gurumaa also advices on how should we approach the stage of “Sankalpa” during the practice of Yoga Nidra to achieve the maximum benefits of the meditation.

What is the science of mantra? What is a mantra and what makes it so powerful for inner transformation? A mantra is among the best and the easiest means to achieve heightened states of concentration, awareness and tranquility. Find out the secret that makes mantra chanting so powerful in this Gurumaa video.

Gurumaa brings up this fact that the ancient sages had understood the power of mantra long long before even the light bulb was invented and electricity was discovered! So, what is it that makes mantra chanting so powerful? It is a tool that acts upon the mind, and when practiced in the right manner, helps to make the mind calm, consolidated and focused.

A mind that is in such a state of one-pointedness, becomes capable of assimilating the divine knowledge that is imparted by an Enlightened master to his/her disciples. A mantra is a powerful tool to turn the mind inwards and unlocking its true potential.

Using mantra chanting to attain wealth, worldly objects and riches is just like using the sophisticated technology of an aero plane as a transport bus! It can give us the wings to fly freely in the open skies, so why use it for merely attaining a few more riches that have such a temporary nature.

To reap the full benefits of mantra chanting, it is essential to do it in the right way. Discover what is the right way of chanting and how to benefit from the powerful effects of mantra in this video.
