Listen to this psalm and fill your heart with eternal bliss, happiness and joy. In these verses-

“Main Dwaare Tere Aayee, aa ke jholi failai,
Tu de de data jo chahe…………..”

A devotee surrenders himself to the almighty and says – Dear lord! I have come to your door to worship you and to get your blessings. My love towards you is pure and pious. I love you unconditionally.

To rejoice these feelings of a devotee, sing aloud with Anandmurti Gurumaa! A devotee says to the almighty, I don’t wish fulfillment of my worldly desires from you. Neither joys nor sorrows I wish from you. You give me whatever you think deems fit for me.

Each and everything belongs to you, so I thank you for everything you have given me. I offer you all what is already yours. It’s only the salutation, which I can offer you. Being compassionate and bounteous please bless me, so that I can dive deeper and deeper to know my real self.

In this hymn, Anandmurti Gurumaa sings joyously the feelings of a devotee towards the Lord. Sing aloud with the Master to have an exhilarating experience!

In the praise of the almighty, the devotee says – Oh Lord! You are so compassionate, merciful, benignant, gracious, bounteous and tender.

Being your children, we beseech you to please keep us in your lotus feet always. We pray you please give us your love. Oh Lord! Only yours and mine relation is true in this World rest everything is just an illusion. Oh Lord! I beg your love. With your blessings, I wish to surrender to you, so that my heart and mind can resonate in peace.

A devotee asked Anandmurti Gurumaa the following question – Why people go to visit the temples if everything is inside our body? And if the soul is like a lightening power, then why can’t everyone see it?

Gurumaa says that until one experiences or understands that everything is within him, one can go to a temple. A devotee should visit the temple with purified feelings and beautiful emotions pertaining to – “Godliness and Devotion”.

To dwell upon these beautiful feelings, one needs to pray from the core of the heart. Listening to the Spiritual Discourses, Hyms (bhajans) and reading the spiritual books, etc of an Enlightened Master also help to achieve higher planes of consciousness.

At most times, temples are quite crowded and jam-packed with devotees. One gets a feeling of anxiety and also finds it difficult to breathe freely in such situations. This might be one of the reasons why people feel repelled towards visiting temples and ask what is the need to visit temples at all!

So, Gurumaa suggests setting aside some time to visit the temple when it is free from the crowd and lots of noises. Because in the quietude of a temple it will be easier to meditate, contemplate and pray with devotion.

These positive vibrations of devotion can be very helpful in the spiritual growth of the devotee. With regular meditation one can move towards the path of “Self-Realization”.

The regular practice of prayers and meditation; and the Master’s blessings help the devotee to slowly and steadily glide deeper and deeper and get an eye to see the divine light within. And finally it will be revealed that everything is within one’s body itself and the “Soul” is like a lightening power.

Surrendering to the master means surrendering your ego. The more you surrender to the master, the more your trust grows. It is difficult to surrender one’s ego. It takes a long time to completely trust and surrender. But once that happens, the relationship becomes very sweet. Your life becomes simple as you take it as it comes. You leave everything to God or your Guru and the stress and tension of your life starts reducing.

Anandmurti Gurumaa says that surrendering is not a conscious effort. It is hard for the ego to dissolve itself. In fact, why would the ego like to dissolve itself in the first place?

So, how can one surrender to the master? Gurumaa says that this can be done by being in the company of those who have dissolved their ego. Watch them, be with them and you will realize what a great opportunity you have been given – the opportunity to surrender to a Realized Master. See the changes which have happened in their lives. Slowly, the ego melts and it becomes easy to surrender to God and the master.

Regarding how to be a non-doer, Gurumaa says being a non-doer entails watching each action of your body and developing awareness in each action of your daily life. As you sit, walk, eat, sleep… be watchful of your body actions, sensations and movement. Slowly this awareness grows and one begins to know that the world is nothing more that a dream. So, the art of witnessing begins to develop.

Once you master the awareness of body movements, start watching your breath amidst all your daily actions. You slowly start becoming proactive instead of reactive. You will find yourself not getting affected by outward influences. Thus, you will learn the art of being a Non-Doer in all your activities and no action shall bind you.

Meera has been a great realized saint woman in India. She was a queen and achieved the greatest spiritual heights through her devotion towards Lord Krishna. Giving her example, Anandmurti Gurumaa explains that the path towards knowing God is the inner path, and not the pictures and statues of idols that we see in temples.

As Gurumaa says in this video, your journey begins when you sit in the company of saints. The act of being present in the company of these great masters, and to imbibe and study their teachings, is defined as satsang.

In satsang we remain in the company of great beings, who reveal the true purpose of our lives by disclosing the highest form of knowledge to us. The highest form of knowledge is to discover who we really are, and to realize that God lives within our very own heart.

The master removes the darkness from within us and reveals that we are God too! The same divinity that exists in the master is also present in us and everything else in this world. They have the power to change your inner being, remove impurities and completely transform someone.

The master is in constant communion with this divine bliss, and these pure vibrations are constantly emanating from them. If we are receptive, we will absorb these pure vibrations and our journey to understanding the real place where God exists will begin.

According to the great sages of India, God dwells within you, which is why the scriptures and sages always tell us to mediate and worship our own Self. Gurumaa also explains where the real place of worship really exists and how we can reach this place in this lifetime itself.

She says we have to travel into our inner world and discover the hidden treasures that lie within us. All the idols or photos in a temple are a symbolic representation of what is present within you. The real purpose of worshiping any outer form of God is to become connected to the divine consciousness that lies within us.

She says if you dive deep within your own heart you will find it is filled in the bliss of this purest form of love. If you can tap into this center you will be able to love your guru or God in an unconditional manner.

In this form of love there are no expectations, or conditions you keep upon anyone. Usually, when we love someone we expect to receive something in return, and expect the person should behave in a manner that pleases us. This would be conditional love.

Unconditional love is the exact opposite. There is no effort required to love someone, and you care about someone but expect nothing in return.

The correct and proper way to remember the divine can only occur when we experience this state of unconditional love. When you are truly in love with someone, any act you perform for that person becomes effortless and enjoyable. In the same way if you love God unconditionally, the act of performing selfless seva (service) will occur spontaneously.

Gurumaa compares the existence of God with the role of oxygen in our life. She says, the fact that we are breathing and taking in oxygen proves how important God is for us.

Oxygen is an essential element that is required for the survival of all human beings, without which no one could survive. Similarly, although God can’t be seen with the naked eye, but his presence is the very foundation of our life.

As humans we take this fact for granted and fail to appreciate the beautiful creation God has created for us. In our limited vision, we only see our problems, and usually pray when we have a wish or need that needs to be fulfilled.

In contrast, an enlightened master needs no reason to pray to God. The fact that they exist, and are breathing is enough of a reason for them to sing God’s praises.

They realize everything is happening according to God’s will, and this divinity is present everywhere. In their eyes God is not a separate entity, and remembering and singing God’s praises is a spontaneous and effortless process for them.

The above questions were asked to Anandmurti Gurumaa and her reply throws light on a lot of interesting facts. Gurumaa says that there is no need to create any faith in God if it is not already present. Either faith is present or it is not, it can’t be artificially created.

So, the need is not to create faith in God, but to delve within the depths of our mind and searching ardently for God. In this search, the seeker can find out whether what the saints and sages are saying (whether God exists or not) is right or wrong.

Gurumaa also says that God exists everywhere and not just in temples. In fact, temples were not always a place of idol worship.

The first temples were created as a meeting place where enlightened mystics would gather and would share their knowledge and divine experience with the common people. This way the common people could also evolve spiritually and find the truth. It is only later on that idols were placed in temples and their worship began.

Lord Shiva is considered as the Supreme God in Hindu tradition. He is beyond the realms of duality and is free from the three gunas – Sattva, Rajjo and Tamo guna . He also represents the epitome of wisdom, truth and beauty.

Most often people ask their spiritual master and Gurus for fulfillment of their mundane desires; such as getting a job, cure from a disease, begetting a child and so forth. But, they are unaware of the fact that this is just like asking pebbles from an emperor who can bestow you with diamonds!

In this video, Gurumaa clarifies the fact that when you approach an enlightened master, you should have only one prayer and request – the prayer for enlightenment!

All human beings are born with a capacity to be enlightened, but few ever achieve it. If at all we ask something from the master, we should ask for their grace and guidance, so that we too can be enlightened just like them.

Gurumaa states that a master is a door to the limitless treasure of God, and one should refrain from going to him/her with mundane objectives and desires.
