All the sages, all the masters, ancient scriptures and all the religions have been telling us for ages that God is the only salvage. The Almighty is your only relative, friend and the loved one. Everything else is an illusion.

The modern day mystic Anandmurti Gurumaa is reminding us the same truth again and again. But instead of preaching it as a matter of fact, she is saying it poetically, lyrically and musically.

And perhaps that is the reason that her call to remember God every moment is more piercing. Her melodious voice urges us not to get caught in this illusion or maya, as described in our scriptures as the world or sansara; but rather rise above that and attain the attainable.

She is using the word Ram here but she does not mean the Ram, the son of Dasaratha, husband of Sita and brother of Laxman, Bharat and Shatrughna. The name could be any. It may be Rama, Krishna, Durga, Shiva, Allah or Jesus because they are the different names of only one, the Almighty, the omnipresent one.

She is emphasizing here in this kirtan that everything here, under the sky is temporary. Everything will one day will either get destroyed or demise. One day you will have to leave this planet and you will have to leave all your belongings, relatives, buddies and the loved ones behind or may be the things or the people whom you love or attached may leave you.

But there is one thing which is permanent in this ever changing world and that is the God. He is the one who is living right within you and will never leave you.

She is again and again reminding us that no one in this world is your true companion, so do not indulge in the worldly affairs or relations. She says, surrender to Rama - the all prevalent, the omnipresent one. He is your only savior.

Just remember him day and night and get liberated from all the agonies and pain of this life. By chanting His name you will rise above pain and pleasures and you will be always enjoying the bliss.

Watch this video and chant His name with the enlightened master Anandmurti Gurumaa and get drenched in the nectar.

Hello, lucky divine child of God!

Do you feel the lack of concentration in studies and work? Then you are the right person to listen to this enlightening video of Anandmurti Gurumaa, a real master.

If you think you are unlucky or don’t deserve the family you have, think of the man without a family. Have you heard the story of a boy who cried that he did not have shoes, till he saw a man who did not have feet?

Anandmurti Gurumaa asks you to count your blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you, what the Lord hath done! We are really lucky to be born as human beings as we have the unique opportunity to develop spiritually and live our life mindfully.

Look at the poor animals, they have to live their lives in total darkness, just carrying on their basic functions. We have the advantage of our intellect; we can enjoy good food, scenery, the fine arts and even communicate and discuss matters with others.

We are the beloved of the Gods, we are under their care; in fact, ‘we are the divine children of God’, Gurumaa says. And we should never, never wallow in self-pity. It is wrong to harbor negative thoughts as this will in turn hamper the functioning of our mind and body, leading to diseases.

So just don’t worry. Be happy! Lead a joyful, carefree life, basking in the love of God and your Guru and at the end of your life, turn around and say, ‘I have lived a good life and have no regrets’.

Be sure that ‘angels will attend, help and bring you to your journey’s end’. Have faith that though the night may seem dreary and long, you can look forward to the dawn, heralding a new and joyous chapter in your life.

Tukaram Maharaj was a great poet-saint born in Maharashtra during the Bhakti movement of India. He was a great devotee of Lord Vitthala, a form of Krishna who is predominantly worshiped in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Goa.

Tukaram Maharaj compiled many devotional poems, which are known as abhangs in Marathi. The compositions written by him were simple, yet had profound teachings within them.

In Part one of the satsang that took place on December 10th 2010, Anandmurti Gurumaa sings one of the compositions written by Tukaram Maharaj. In this beautiful poem, he says our body is the temple of God, and the atma or soul is the Lord himself.

Tukaram Maharaj illustrates how close God is to us by using simple analogies. He points out that the sugar in sugarcane and butter within milk both remain unseen until they are extracted.

Similarly, the Lord dwells within us and is the essence of our existence. The great saint continues to say that we are foolish to travel great distances, and assume that God is far away, when the great Lord exists inside of us!

Such a great mystery can only be revealed by those who have experienced this highest state of bliss. Therefore as the great poet-saint Tukaram Maharaj says, we should learn to explore our inner world and find the divinity that is present inside our own body!

Devotion indeed makes a person more humble, egoless and soft-hearted. But without knowledge; devotion seem to be a blind following. Then, what is more important for a seeker – knowledge or devotion? What should be the right approach? Discover the answer to these questions in this Gurumaa video.

One of the devotees asked Anandmurti Gurumaa, “In the path of spiritual evolution, What is more important – knowlede or devotion?”

Gurumaa elaborates that meditation opens the gates of knowledge to us. Both knowledge and devotion are very important. Without devotion there can be no achievement on the path of knowledge and without knowledge, the devotion would seem like blind following.

One can become a fool on the name of devotion. And one can become egoistic person, if he does not have the right approach towards meditation and other spiritual practices.

It is very important that the seeker of knowledge remains humble. Humbleness is the first and foremost ingredient in meditational practices.

Gurumaa further says that in devotion there should be a deep longing and a sense of surrender to God, Guru and divinity. But it shouldn’t be blind at all.

Gurumaa shows the path of truth through love, knowledge and devotion.

How to Mitigate the Ill-Effects of Your Past Karmas and Your Destiny? – Learn the Art of Re-Engineering Your Destiny from Anandmurti Gurumaa!

If a person is following the path of spirituality and is regularly practicing meditation, yoga, chanting and other spiritual practices, should he be concerned about the ill-effects of planetary movements on his life?

Should he fear the consequences of his destiny and his past actions (karmic account)? Or are the blessings of the master enough to wipe off all ill-effects that one might face due to his/her past deeds? Discover the answers in this Gurumaa video.

One of the devotees asked Anandmurti Gurumaa that he has already taken up the path of meditation, pranayama and yoga practice since he has been her devotee. So how much importance should he give to the effects of planetary movements like Saturn, etc on his life?

Deep inside he believes that if he is moving in the proper direction and has been already blessed by the master, then neither planet can cause a malefic affect on him and he would be strong enough to face their ill-effects.”

Gurumaa says that the ’sade-sati’ (ill-effects of Saturn) and the effects of the bad grah (stars) of a person are the ways of settling the bad ‘karmas’ (past actions) of a person.

At the time of ’sade-sati’, one may physically or externally, experience some bad things like loss of money, loss of name etc. But in such bad times, the good thing is if one uses the ‘viveka’ (wisdom) and the ‘gyana’ (knowledge) given by the Guru, then one can change this bad time into the time of spiritual practice.

Mantra japa (mantra chanting), sadhana (spiritual practice) cannot erase the effects of one’s past karma. Only the unripened karma (one’s whose effects are yet to be seen in the future), can be deleted or its effect can get minimized. But as such, everyone has to face the ‘karmas’ or actions performed by them in the past.

One can use all the turmoil, difficult situation in one’s own favor. In difficult situations, one needs to keep on reminding that everything in this world is temporary. One day, we have to leave all the things, so why not leave them now. This is what called ‘vairaagya’ or dispassion.

Name, fame and riches are the things that come and go. But one should remain unaffected in all the circumstances.

Gurumaa has given in-depth discourses on the law of karma and the effect of planets in our life. Click here to learn more about them.

Should You Worship Your Guru for Accelerated Spiritual Growth? – Discover What Anandmurti Gurumaa Says About it!

Posted on: Sunday, January 23rd, 2011

Should we worship a living enlightened master? Or we should worship the idols? What is the necessity of a Guru in the path of self-realization? How can one accelerate one’s spiritual progress? Find the answers of these questions in this Gurumaa video.

The Master is like a gate, a gate to see our inner space. There is no bigger ignorance than thinking that, the Master is like a wall in the path of worshiping the God. Perhaps, a living master is one, who connects us with the Almighty. The Guru guides us how we can overcome the difficulties that might come in the path of our self-realization.

One of the devotees asked the enlightened master – Anandmurti Gurumaa that should we worship a living master? Aren’t we deviating from our main purpose of worshiping God when we worship a human being as Guru; who himself is bound in the ‘chakra’ of birth and death? What is the importance of ‘diksha’ and ‘Guru mantra in our life?

Gurumaa in this video expounds the necessity of having a Master. She also shows us the way to accelerate and simplify the path to our self-discovery.

In response to the question, Gurumaa explains that a person with huge ballooned ego, is never ready to accept that somebody else is more evolved and more superior to him. An egoistic person cannot accept that a human being can ever be called as Guru. Because such a person thinks; that all human beings are in a ‘chakra’ and that is why they are born and are bound.

Gurumaa demystifies that if all the human beings are bound in the cycle of birth and death, then even the great incarnations like Guru Nanak, Kabir, Ravidas, Krishna, Ram and Christ should also be bound like a human being, in the bondages of death and life.

They all had taken birth and gone through many painful situations. Even Guru Nanak lived a life, in which he was cursed at some places, while he was praised at other places.

To move on the path of ’self realization’, one definitely needs a human being as a Guru, who would show the right path to him/her. But the questioner would never accept this thing. Because he already seems to have himself become a Master of his own.

Moreover, he is happy with his self-made belief, that no other human being can be more evolved and superior than him to become his Guru.

Due to his ego, the questioner himself has closed all the doors for him. One cannot come out of one’s ego, unless one washes away the false ego from the mind.

Have you ever listened to the sound of quietness within you? What does it signify? What are its spiritual implications? How should the spiritual seeker go about it? Find out the answers in this Gurumaa video.

To live a blissful life, one needs to devote one’s time to beauty, music, wisdom, meditation, prayer and chanting. And then just forget about that time. It takes a person towards the inner space.

At such a stage, a person can hear the sound of the inner quietude. It is an amusing experience for a person. But, what is the significance of hearing this sound of quietness?

One of the devotees asked Anandmurti Gurumaa this question, “I have been listening to your discourses and following you since a long time. For the last many months, I hear a sound of quietness, continuously, which is louder sometimes. It does not bother me, in fact I like it, does it mean anything? Please guide me.”

In response to the question, Gurumaa says that it is really a joyful experience to hear the sound of inner silence. The one who experiences it, should keep on enjoying it and thank God for the same.

When someone is able to hear and enjoy the sound of inner silence, then there is no bigger thing that a person can ask for. One just needs to relish it and keep continuing the spiritual practices as suggested by the master.

Gurumaa suggests that the questioner should keep on enjoying his life. And he can addyoga nidraand ‘nishkriya dhyan’ to the meditation schedule that he follows.
